Hunter and Ariel’s luxury destination wedding at NIZUC Resort in Mexico was one of those celebrations that I’ll be re-reliving for a long time to come. Their stunning destination wedding took place in actual paradise. It was filled with breathtaking landscapes and a slower pace that allowed for more connection, enjoyment, and memories.

Mexico Destination Wedding Weekend in Cancun

NIZUC created the perfect setting for a luxury destination wedding in Mexico. There are several reasons why I love destination weddings, but one of the main ones is the ability for couples and their loved ones to truly relax and immerse themselves in the moment over a long wedding weekend. Ariel and Hunter arrived in Cancun at the gorgeous NIZUC Resort and we celebrated with a couples photoshoot around the property and by the pool. Afterwards an open-air welcome dinner for their guests set the stage for the weekend ahead followed by a rehearsal dinner the next night.

The outdoor ceremony took place by the water, where the wind moved through the organic, lush florals decorating the chuppah, a traditional Jewish wedding arch. The long oriental grass created movement and added a romantic, whimsical touch to the beach wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails, a candlelit dinner, and a lively celebration that carried into the night. The newlyweds shared quiet in-between moments, while also embracing the energy of the evening with an amazing band and a packed dance floor. The reception design carried the design of lush florals with wispy long grass and flowers decorating the tables.

As a destination wedding photographer, these are the kinds of weddings I love most. The ones where everyone is fully present and everything becomes a part of the wedding experience. Hunter and Ariel’s Mexico wedding at NIZUC Resort was a reminder that luxury destination weddings aren’t the ones that are the most lavish, but the ones that embrace every moment as it happens and focus on the love shared between a couple and those present with them.
